  • What types of obedience training programs do you offer for dogs at International K9?

    We offer all types of training, from behavioral to service dog, home guard, protection, hunting, police dogs and more.

  • Can you train a dog for security purposes and what type of training is involved?

    When we train dogs for security we build the dogs confidence and then teach the dog how to give you back the control you would loose in a life threatening situation

  • How long does it typically take to train a dog for obedience or security purposes?

    Protection or security must be based on a good obedience foundation so that the dog has the control needed to follow directions in the "heat of the moment" to get the dog to this point can take 6 weeks to 3 months depending on the dog.

  • What types of behavior issues can be addressed through dog training at International K9?

    We have addressed a variety of behavior issues; house breaking, digging, barking, jumping, miss placed aggression - dogs, cats, people etc., we also address issues arising from unique personality's such as eating objects, barking at their own shadow, knocking over water etc.

  • How do you approach house training for puppies or adult dogs?

    Good house behavior comes from good obedience, this is a fundamental difference between American philosophy vs. German theory and techniques. American tend to tell the dog what not to do i.e. "don't go there and don't do that" where ass Germans will teach the dog "do this and do that"

  • Can you customize a training program to meet the specific needs of my dog?

    Our training platform is built around working with each client as an individual so we customize our training to best help you.

  • Do you use positive reinforcement methods in your dog training programs?

    Yes we always re enforce behavior with positive feed back for the dog

  • Are there any age or breed restrictions for dogs to participate in your training programs?

    Normally dogs are not too old to learn correct behavior, however we offer a free evaluation to asses this 

  • How do you ensure that the training is effective and the dog retains the training long-term?

    We make sure to fully educate our clients and will offer lessons as needed, after we have made sure your handling is correct at our facility, this ensures when the dog goes home you have already practiced what to do in a home like setting

  • Do you offer any follow-up support or additional training sessions after the initial training program is completed?

    We do continue to work with clients as needed at our facility. At home lessons can be arranged 

  • What if I want my dog on it's food?

    We provide a good food , but yes if you want your dog to eat it's food, we have you drop it off when the dog comes in for training

  • Can i visit my dog?

    Yes! we encourage this, we only ask to have the first couple days alone with the dog so we can build a re-pore and begin socialization as well as further assessment

  • What if my dog is on medication?

    Bring the medication and we will medicate your dog, if it needs to see a vet while with us we will arrange this with you

  • What if my dog is not smart and takes longer?

    Our course lengths are estimates, if it takes longer to train you dog properly we will take the time needed to do so 

  • If I have many people in my family will you train them all or how does this work?

    It is important to train everyone that will be handling your dog so we make time to train the entire family

  • If I buy a trained dog from you and I live out of state how do I get follow up training?

    For out of state clients we fly to you for a day, the only expense to you is the plane ticket and accommodations

  • How often are the lessons?

    Training with your dog are as often as allowed with the dog and also at the pace the client can take in all the information, we try not to over load you with too much at once.

  • Do you train all breeds?

    Yes we work with all dogs, no dog is too small or too big for us

  • Im in a wheel chair do you work with dogs to show them what to do with people in my situation?

    We train dogs for clients with all sorts of disability's from wheelchairs to more specific needs, seizures etc.
